Choosing Colours
This can be a daunting task for some, and although we don't actively engage in full colour consultancy, we can still help you without having to spend big bucks for a "Colour Consultant". With a wide range of colour charts, technical online information from all major paint brands, we can help you through the process. Keep in mind that bright colours chosen off mid to extra bright bases, and even vivid white in general, may struggle to achieve absolute coverage in 2 coats. However, as choosing colours can be very subjective, we can only give you options, the final decision is up to you.
Paint Preparation
The preparation of any painting project can vary depending on the physical state of the current paint work. Weather, multiple coats of paint with the original coat breaking down (This is especially prevalent in older type houses such as villa's or bungalow's where "crazy cracking" can appear) and not washing down your house or business at least twice a year. These are the more common problems with many other variables that can contribute to the degradation of the paintwork. So to cover all bases, we will discuss with you your requirements and what needs to be done, where everything is transparent with no hidden costs.
Treating Rust
Treating rust can be an unknown and can NEVER BE STOPPED COMPLETELY. Any superficial rust could possibly be part of a larger underlying problem. The only way to stop the rust is to remove the source and replace if possible eg: Corner and joiner weatherboard soakers, metal flashings, fittings and or screws etc. Nails of course cannot be removed. Therefore, any rust treatment that we do (Depending at what stage the rust is at) will only slow the rusting process, it may take 3 weeks, 3 months or 3 years, the rust will return. If we have any concerns about advanced stages of rust, the customer will be notified.
Exterior Winter Painting
Yes it can be done. Were very lucky in the north that we don't have extremely cold winters, all care is taken to monitor weather conditions so that the paint product cures properly as per their specifications, and there are exterior "winter paints" that dry and cure faster in colder conditions, however, if needed we do have commercial diesel heaters to speed up the process. The only possible downfall is that the job may take a little longer due to shorter days, cooler temperatures and increased precipitation for that time of year.
Customer Communication
Transparency and communication all the way through the project is the best way to keep a healthy relationship with the client. We make sure that our TERMS & CONDITIONS are made clear to the customer verbally and online, to cover both parties should any possible issues arise.
Service Area
Although we mainly cover the Dargaville/Kaipara District, we can travel around Northland and as far south as the harbour bridge. We can travel beyond these areas but accommodation would have to be arranged. Our km rates and travel time are very competative and are negotiable.
